MEDIATION

Mediation can be used in many family law matters to resolve conflict with a third party in the middle and little or no interaction with one another during negotiations. I am focused primarily on family, but will consider other areas on a case by case basis.

One of the most stressful situations in one's life. The best step you can take is moving forward and taking the steps necessary to heal.

CUSTODY/SUPPORT

Children are most precious and deserve to have stability in their lives. They also deserve support to allow them to thrive as they grow.

​The best option for children whose parents have chosen to no longer be together is to have a parenting plan and child support ordered to protect all involved and foster a positive relationship for the children. I am thoughtful in creating a plan that makes sense for your individual situation. 

Should there be a time you are considering a modification of your parenting plan or are having issues, I am here to guide you in what the best step to take is and how to proceed.

MINOR GUARDIANSHIP 
(Third Party Custody)

Washington replaced third party(someone other than the parent) custody to Minor Guardianship in 2021.

This came as a result of constitutional issues related to parenting being violated with current law.

If you are caring for a child that is not yours, you are not alone. As the law was changing the cases were rising of this scenario. This process is not simple but it can be much simpler by working with someone who understands the new laws/requirements.

LIMITED LICENSE LEGAL TECHNICIANS
The Supreme Court of Washington determined there was a need for the public that was not being met with the current legal system. Therefore, they ordered a new legal profession known as the Limited License Legal Technicians (LLLT). LLLT's offer limited assistance in family law ONLY as you proceed through the court with your case.  More information can be found on the Washington State Bar Association's page. The program was sunset, however I am grandfathered in and able to provide services with some restrictions.
